SAVOR CAFÉ
Downtown workers have some food and refreshment and listen to
live music to start the weekend of right. SAVOR CAFÉ 201 West 7th St. (804)
52-SAVOR.
Savor is
Manchester's coffee house and café. Conveniently located inside the Corrugated
Box Building on the corner of West 7th St and Porter St., the café is open on
the weekdays at 7:30 am to 5:30 pm for breakfast, lunch and take home dinners.
Chef owner Ellie Basch has been in Richmond food scene since 2002 with her
catering company Everyday Gourmet. Her cuisines are often described as
"light, fresh and flavorful", thanks to her aptitude in using herbs
and spices as a result of growing up in the Spice Islands of Indonesia.
With its bright, airy and mod design in an industrial setting, several
customers have commented that Savor reminds them of NYC's Meatpacking district.
Manchester's urban landscape certainly would transport our customers to lower
Manhattan, but the Savor's commitment to using local produce and food products
is decidedly Virginian, while the commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle.
