assemblage and collage in the region. Using books as her substrate and a myriad of formats and techniques, she makes objects of profound interest and fascination.
The work of Sarah Mizer usually exists in a whisper quiet-world, wherein calm observation reveals subtle qualities. Her new works are a celebration of the multiple meanings of language itself. Her glass sculptures, with adjoining painted shadow texts bring a contrast in forms to show contrast in meaning.
Known for his Tonalist landscapes, Charles Philip Brooks continues the tradition of such painters as that of Elliott Daingerfield and Albert Pinkham Ryder by complimenting his evocative oils with poems. Much like the landscapes, his poetry focuses on emotive arrangements, meant to deliver an experience of authentic feeling.
